The Norwegian giants defeated the likes of Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Inter - the latter over two legs - on the way to reaching the round of 16. Kjetil Knudsen's side were 3-0 up after the first leg of their tie against Sporting CP, but eventually succumbed 5-3 on aggregate. This season, they've progressed from the third qualifying round, beating Union Saint-Gilloise and NEC, and they also have plenty of momentum from their domestic form. Indeed, Knudsen's men are three points clear at the top of the Eliteserien, and on a run of eight straight victories.
