Only Real Madrid, Ajax and Bayern Munich have ever won the European Cup/Champions League in three successive years. That's the company PSG are bidding to join this season, and they will certainly fancy their chances. Les Parisiens have won their Champions League opener in each of the last four seasons, while none of the last 35 reigning champions have lost the first match of their title defence. The last team to suffer such a feat were Celtic when they lost to Dynamo Kyiv back in 1967. PSG already have the UEFA Super Cup in the bag, but it's not exactly been a flying start to this season for them. They were beaten by Lens in the Trophee des Champions, and are still waiting for their first victory in Ligue 1 after three games.
